Meet the Staff
Diane Howell is a board certified registered nurse anesthetist. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree at Plattsburgh State University in 1991. She finished her specialty training in anesthesia at Virginia Commonwealth University, receiving her Master’s in Nurse Anesthesia in 2000. She has served in the United States Air Force and the United States Navy, both in the Nurse Corps. Ms Howell is currently a PhD candidate in the Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Education, and holds an affiliate assistant professor position in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia at VCU. She is past president of the Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists, and continues to serve VANA as a consultant in dental anesthesia issues. She is also Director of the Nursing Program at Bryant and Stratton College.
Stephen Blanchard Stephen Blanchard is a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice. Dr. Blanchard has been Board Certified in nurse anesthesia since 2000. He received his undergraduate, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, from Kennesaw State University, Georgia in 1995 and his Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in 1999. He completed his doctorate at the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in 2009. Dr. Blanchard is the current Government Relations Committee Chair and immediate past president of the Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists and sits on the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Government Relations Committee. He also proudly served in the US Army as part of the 5th Special Forces Group, 1st Special Forces Airborne unit from 1981 - 1985.
Amy Custo is our Practice and Financial Manager. Amy graduated from Plattsburgh State University in New York with a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management. Amy has 20 years experience in the service industry, and spent the last 15 years in management. Her responsibilities encompass many aspects of our business, including AP/AR, billing and financing, marketing, patient treatment coordination and customer service. Her incredible organization skills keeps our team running smoothly! Amy lives in Midlothian with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time she loves to entertain for family and friends, whether a casual gathering or a big celebration! Her hobbies include scrapbooking and anything Disney!
Camy Ann Webb is our registered nurse whose specialty is pediatric recovery, or postanesthesia care. Camy assists our patients with their pre-operative and post-operative care. She is wonderful with the children and the personal attention she gives to each child, as well as their parents, make them feel comfortable and at ease. Camy is also a trained Dental Assistant, as well as an Emergency Medical Technician-B. She works each week at the volunteer rescue squad in her community. Her and Dr. Webb just recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary! She loves to travel when possible!
April Tunstall is our Patient Coordinator and she is also a trained Dental Assistant. April has been in pediatric dentistry since 2004 and has a particular strength in getting to know the kids and their parents, so that from visit to visit, the families will feel like a part of our CPDS family. She is the friendly voice that our patients have grown so accustomed to hearing when calling our office and she takes great pleasure in making sure they are each taken care of. April is also continuing her education in Business Administration. She enjoys travel and spending time with her family. April is also excited to welcome her first child, a sweet baby girl, this August!
Glenda Schroeder is a Pediatric Dental Assistant with over 7 years experience. She loves to work with children and loves experiencing the uniqueness of each child. They make her laugh and smile every day! Glenda is also trained as a sedation recovery specialist and assists with post-operative care. In her free time she loves to relax with family and friends and she can always be found reading the latest novel on her Kindle!
Tiffany Smith is a Pediatric Dental Assistant. She has over three years experience as a dental assistant and is also trained as a Certified Anesthesia Assistant through the Virginia Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Tiffany was elected as a Vice President for HOSA during her training as a dental assistant and also attended a Mission of Mercy where she volunteered her time to those in need of dental care. She is a graduate of Thomas Dale High School. During her free time she loves to spend time with her family, especially her two younger brothers, and her three dogs, Titus, Athena and Rhiliegh.
Nichole Ticachek is a Pediatric Dental Assistant. She is currently studying at Radford University and is with us part time during her summer and holiday breaks. Nichole enjoys working with children and always has a welcoming smile to help patients feel at ease. She has extensive volunteer service, including the Lunenburg Project, Give Kids a Smile Day and the Wise County M.O.M. project. In her free time she loves to just relax with her family and friends. During the fall months if she needs a study break you can always find her catching up on the latest football scores!
Myrna Davis is our Patient Coordinator at our Midlothian office. Myrna has over 15 years experience in dental care, starting as a dental assistant and gradually cross training to responsibilities in the front office, as well as instructing and training new dental assistants. Myrna's welcoming and caring personality make our patients, and their parents, feel right at home in our practice. Whether she is assisting them with appointments, or answering questions regarding their insurance or treatment plans, Myrna truly enjoys helping each and every patient, and ensuring they have the best experience possible. In her time away from the office Myrna enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and being outdoors.
Carrie Tesh is a Pediatric Dental Assistant with over 4 years of experience. Carrie attended Liberty University where she received a Bachelors Degree in Health Promotions. Carrie truly enjoys working with children. She loves the uniqueness of each child and loves that they put a smile on her face each and every day. She enjoys the wonderful feeling of knowing she is helping to make a positive change in their lives through improved oral care. During her free time, Carrie likes to travel and spend time with her family at the lake. Most recently, she enjoys fixing up her new home with her husband and dog and looks forward to starting a family of her own
